Leprechauns are Lurching!

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, and if your kids are anything like mine, they love the mystery of mischievous leprechauns! With so much emphasis placed on the color GREEN, it’s a great opportunity to work it into your child’s food options.

 

See just how many naturally green foods your family can incorporate into the day.

Send your children to school with a “green” lunch.

Have your kids help you make green dinner selections.

All the while, discuss why green foods are so good for us.

 

Breakfast:

• Spinach chicken sausage (gold coins)

• Sliced avocado

• Dill pickle

• Salad greens

• Banana Paleo Pancakes (pot of gold)

 

Lunch:

• Herb turkey roll-ups with green pepper and green apple

• Kiwi

• Green olives

• Green peas

• Pistachios

• Plantain chips (gold coins)

 

When healthy food is made fun and kids are involved with some choices, they are much more apt to eat well!
