Bored of the same-old snacks? We all get in a rut, but sometimes using the same ingredients in a new way is all it takes to break free. Apples and almond butter are a match made in heaven and building little sandwiches is fun for the whole family.
These “sandwich” snacks are easy and fun to make with your little ones. Let your kids build their own creations, choosing from coconut, raisins or both, and watch them gain confidence in the kitchen with real food ingredients.
Spreading almond butter with a butter knife and sprinkling toppings is perfect practice for little hands. Of course these primal friendly snacks are delicious for grown-ups as well, making them a family affair!
Teaching older kids to use an apple corer and a chefs knife to carefully slice the apples into thin rounds are additional kitchen skills that will serve them well.
The crisp apple is refreshing, the almond butter and coconut are satisfying, and the combination of these sandwich stacker ingredients make for a nutrient dense pre-game option or an after school snack.Print
