It doesn’t get much easier than nuts and seeds when it comes to keto-friendly snacks. Trail mix is a great no-cook camping food to bring with you. Whether you are following a paleo, primal, gluten-free, or keto approach, just make sure to avoid adding sugar-laden dried fruits for a low carb trail mix.
Most store-bought trail mixes contain inflammatory seed oils and sugary candies. Making your own tasty combinations is both easy and healthier.
I love this low carb trail mix recipe, with pizza-inspired flavors. Small pieces of chopped sun-dried tomatoes, alongside nutritional yeast (for a cheesy flavor), and dried oregano add a unique twist to a bowl of nuts.
We love to take this mix with us when we are on-the-go — it’s great for low-carb camping snacks, or taking on road trips.
This low carb trail mix is also a great after school snack for when the kids get off the bus and walk through the door ravenous. The healthy fats are perfect for replenishing brain power as homework begins.
